  • Brasstown Beef and Cattle Co., LLC (“Brasstown” or the “Company”), headquartered in Brasstown, NC, was a newly formed manager-managed limited liability company. Brasstown, through an exclusive licensing agreement with Ridgefield Farm, LLC (“Ridgefield Farm”) and its affiliates (together “Ridgefield”), enabled Ridgefield’s fully integrated beef cattle and farming business to continue.   • Ridgefield manages and raises cattle using no antibiotics or added hormones and supplies the “all-natural” marketplace. Ridgefield sells its beef under the “Brasstown Beef” brand to Whole Foods Market stores, fine restaurants and butcher shops, and was distributed by International Food Concepts (IFC), a number of Sysco Operating Companies, and Buckhead Beef, LLC.

  • The market for “organic/natural food” had expanded significantly in recent years, with sales in the organic/all natural food category increasing 3000% over the last twenty years. (US sales of natural foods were approximately $40 billion in 2015) (Organic Trade Association)
